Weaving Studio

The weaving studio

Located next to The Glassroom, this unique Yale space is home to floor looms, ridged heddle looms, and tapestry looms. It is a space that students sign up to use as they commit to a weaving project. Morse and Stiles students learn from Master Weaver Barbara Hurley as she opens the world of this old craft to them in an environment free of electronics.

Sign-up is prompted by email in the early fall semester and students cycle through the space over the course of the year.

The studio is also home to sewing machines that Morsels and Stilesians can borrow and take to their rooms to use. To borrow a machine, please come by the Morse Head of College office and have an aide assist you in the loan.

If you have questions regarding the studio, please get in touch with Alexa Martindale, ADO of Morse.
