Jessica Spector, PhD

Academic Philosopher and Cultural Historian

Jessica Spector is an academic philosopher and cultural historian whose research examines how value, selfhood, and agency are formed through social practices of bodily labor and consumption, particularly those involving sex, food, and drink. She holds a master’s degree and PhD in philosophy from The University of Chicago, with training in history and religious studies, as well as certifications in language and writing instruction and professional diplomas in the spirits world. Her work explores the social forces that shape how we live, with particular attention to the intersection of culture, commerce, and morality.
